Professional Quantity Surveyor (QS) with a wealth of experience in managing contracts and cost management of the built environment. This includes working for both client and contractor/subcontractor.

Extensive experience of historic buildings having been QS and project manager on numerous Grade 2 listed buildings (single living accommodation and mess facilities), including liaising with Historic England to ensure works are completed in accordance with guidance.

Lead QS on providing strategic cost modelling and cost advice to the Infrastructure Optimisation team of DIO (Defence Infrastructure Organisation).

Provided cost models and recommendations as part of option appraisals/cost benefit analysis to estimate the whole life cost of projects encompassing multiple different asset types (offices, warehouse and distribution, single living accommodation, messing, leisure/sports facilities, etc). Estimates used to derive multi billion pound estimates associated with the rationalisation of the MOD estate which included numerous historic buildings.

Provided cost support and worked closely with a team of consultants in developing option estimates on the cost of incorporating/retro fitting measures to reduce/eliminate carbon emissions on multiple different built asset types to derive a low carbon estate. Taking account backlog maintenance, different options for fabric improvements, and low carbon heating measures.

  • Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Quantity Surveying Division)
  • Bsc Quantity Surveying
